Local charity says “Help us to help you.”

Many older people in the county will feel the effects of the coronavirus pandemic for years to
come. Research [1] has shown that people with pre-existing long-term health conditions were
more likely to say their health has deteriorated because of the lockdowns. Half of all “shielders”
say they can’t walk as far as they could before the pandemic.

As we gradually move out of restrictions Age UK Northamptonshire wants local people to fill in a
short survey to tell the charity what services and support it ought to be providing. We are in very
different times and Age UK Northamptonshire needs people living in Northamptonshire to help
ensure the charity is providing the kind of services and support that older people and their
families need.

Chief Executive Chris Duff said “We are keen to hear from people across the county. Please fill
in our short survey to tell us what services you think we should provide. What support do you
think is missing?  How could our services be adapted so that they are better at meeting the
needs of older people in Northamptonshire?”
