This Summer Garden Party is this year’s main outdoor event for Pamper Me
Pamper My Pet, a new venture set up by Rachel Knight of Oscar Pet Foods
Northampton and Karen Smith of Karen Smith Photography, a local specialist
pet photographer. Rachel came up with the brand name and idea as a way to
raise money for worthwhile local charities, whilst showcasing local small
businesses like herself and fellow small business owner Karen Smith.
Pamper Me Pamper My Pet celebrates awesome people and their awesome
pets! We all deserve to treat ourselves from time to time, with fabulous
products and memorable experiences, whilst feeling good about supporting
local charities and local small businesses.
Established to run local charitable events, a fully interactive website
Pampermepampermypet.co.uk is coming soon which will enable people to hear
about future events and provide links to local small businesses. It will also
host blogs and provide a network for local likeminded small businesses to
share ideas and work together with the aim to increase their business profile
and gain new customers.
We are finding that many people are increasingly turning to local businesses as
they often offer a far superior product, shopping experience and a more
personalised level of service than their large high street counterparts. Pamper
Me Pamper My Pet aims to act as a hub to connect businesses and customers
whilst raising much needed funds for local charities through events such as the
summer garden party.
This isn’t the first event that Pamper Me Pamper My Pet has organised. A
small pre-Christmas event was held last November which raised £200 for
Cynthia Spencer Hospice and £200 for the Animal Support Trust, and a further
£500 was raised for Wellidog at their Spring Fun Dog Show back in March.
The two chosen charities for the Summer Garden Party event are both reliant
on donations for the extraordinary work they do for both people and dogs.
Many people locally will have adopted dogs from Wellidog, “Where Second
Hand Dogs Makes First Class Friends,” and are aware of the huge costs
involved for vet fees and day to day care of the animals waiting to go to their
forever homes. Raid your piggy banks and look out for Wellidog’s tombola at
the garden party!
Needing some £3,000 a day to continue to provide its specialist palliative
“Care, Support, Choice” services, Cynthia Spencer Hospice relies on the
support and generosity of our local community. For the owners of New Lodge
Vineyard, helping to raise money for The Cynthia Spencer Hospice is
something which is very close to their hearts having previously lost a close
family member to cancer. Within Northampton many will have lost family and
friends to cancer and will have experienced first-hand the amazing care and
support provided. Cynthia Spencer will be selling an array of vintage clothing
and accessories at the garden party.
