Northampton Entrepreneur Wins National Podcasting Award
A local author, podcast host and business owner from Northampton was the runner-up
in the prestigious Podcasting for Business Awards 2021.
Shelley F. Knight was shortlisted from thousands of entries and won runner up in the
Best Interview Podcast category of the inaugural Podcasting for Business Awards. The
awards were announced in a virtual online ceremony on the 26th of January, 2021.
“I am absolutely blown away by the show’s success, given it has been running for less
than a year. Considering how young my podcast is, I was delighted to have been
shortlisted, let alone being named runner-up as Best Interview Podcast” said Shelley F.
Knight, who is the host of the mental health show, Positive Changes: A Self-Kick
The podcast came about after Shelley became passionate about sharing the messages
beyond her first book, Positive Changes: A Self-Kick Book, that we are capable of
making the smallest of positive changes in life, even after times of loss, be it loss of
health, finances, direction, confidence, or a loved one.
Shelley, a former Haematology and Oncology Nurse throughout the county of
Northamptonshire, has witnessed so many people becoming stuck in life after loss, that
when she left nursing in 2019, she went on to set up Good Grief: Northampton Death
Cafe. She also wrote her second book during Lockdown, Good Grief: The A to Z
Approach of Modern Day Grief Healing (available to pre-order from John Hunt
Publishing) to inspire people further in their grief journey.
The podcast awards are the brainchild of Lynsay Anne Gould, who is a top-rated
podcaster, podcast agency owner and business coach. The Podcasting for Business
Awards’ main aim is to celebrate the creativity of new and seasoned podcasters and
help them reach a wider audience. Podcasting has taken off globally with Apple
currently hosting over 1.68 million podcasts and there are over 10 million weekly
podcast listeners here in the UK.
Founder of the Awards, Lynsay Anne says, “A big congratulations to all the winners.
The PFB Awards are a celebration of all independent podcasting and we love sharing
the amazing achievements of podcasters across many different genres. A big thank you
to all our judges and sponsors who made the 2021 awards a massive success.”
“We absolutely love showcasing indie podcasters and their shows in the awards and we
will be hosting the event annually. I am passionate about getting more diverse voices
and ideas heard via the marvellous medium of podcasting.”
