Eggsplore Northampton parks this Easter
Children are invited to Discover Easter in Northampton through interactive digital egg hunt trails available from 1 April through the augmented reality app Explore Northampton.
The Easter experience, available through the app, will see children venturing out to Abington Park, Delapré Abbey, and Bradlaugh Fields to complete the egg hunt trails.
Users will augment Easter eggs with letters hidden within. Collect all the letters to discover a special message.
Everyone completing at least one of the trails will receive a digital certificate that they can print out and colour in. They can even be in with the chance of winning one of the chocolate prizes available if they share a picture of their certificate on Facebook tagging @LoveNorthampton page.
Cllr Anna King, Cabinet Member for Community Engagement and Safety, said: “This Easter families can enjoy the town in a playful, creative and innovative way using augmented reality experiences on offer through the Explore Northampton app.
“The Easter experience is a great way to keep children well entertained outdoors with each trail taking less than one hour to complete. Let’s all discover Northampton’s parks like never before.”
Spring is the perfect time to discover the local history using A Walk in the Past experience. History enthusiasts are able to step back in time and discover the people who made Northampton the town it is today using their phones.
In addition to the handy trail map available through the app, stickers have been placed in the different trail locations to assist people in finding the personalities of the past.
