6pm & 8.30pm performances

CAR PARK PARTY is delighted to reveal the stellar line-up for CAR PARK COMEDY, in association with The Comedy Store. With a duo of performances, Northampton will welcome comedy circuit stalwarts Emmanuel Sonubi, Jen Brister, Andrew Bird and Geoff Norcott, hosted by Andrew Ryan. A lorry-load of laughs guaranteed, the shows will be putting smiles on faces in every car.

Tim Percival, Director of Marketing & Communications at Franklin’s Gardens said:
‘We’re delighted to announce a stellar list of big-name comedians, including local lad Andrew Bird, for what promises to be a hilarious night of comedy and laughter.’

Irishman Andrew Ryan is one of the most exciting talents in recent years; in demand as an act and as an MC at some of the biggest comedy clubs across the UK & Ireland. Andrew’s quintessentially Irish storytelling abilities and cheeky, friendly demeanour make him a natural stand up.

Ex-bouncer Emmanuel Sonubi was born and bred in North London where he extracts most of his hilarious interactions with the vibrant cockneys and reprobates he has encountered. Now, as a father of two, the soon to be headliner has a wealth of material of playing pranks with his kids as well as his questionable parenting skills. ‘One of my favourite discoveries of the year, was Emmanuel Sonubi. Hilarious, warm and unique. If you don’t see him now for a tenner, you won’t be able to smugly tell your mates about it when they’re paying £50 for a crap seat at the O2’ Jason Manford

A critically acclaimed stand-up comedian, writer and actor, Jen Brister cut her teeth by extensively touring with comedians such as Kerry Godliman, Francesca Martinez, Frankie Boyle and Romesh Ranganathan. ‘Blisteringly funny… Brister is a truly natural and gifted performer’ The List

Northampton’s own Andrew Bird has become a top headline act up and down the country since his beginnings in the city, and has performed all around the world. Admittedly starting out by dropping out of art college, he has since been tour support for Rhod Gilbert and Rob Brydon, plus playing some of the countries biggest arena’s on Michael McIntyre’s most recent tour including Wembley and the O2. He’s written on TV shows Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Lee Mack’s Duck Quacks Don’t Echo and is a regular guest on BBC Radio’s The Rhod Gilbert Show.

Finally, Geoff Norcott is self-described as a ‘unique’ voice in British comedy. Having appeared on Live at the Apollo, Mash Report, Mock the Week and Question Time he’s built up a significant live following with sell-out Edinburgh runs and two national tours. Operating outside the usual comedic commentary on politics and social issues, Geoff has carved a real niche for himself. ‘He’s a class act with a mature, sharp take on modern politics’ Sunday Times

Following on from Car Park Comedy, Franklin’s Gardens will further host Car Park Theatre and Car Park Karaoke on Saturday 18th July.
