Age UK Northamptonshire Partner with Outstanding
Live-in Care Provider.
Age UK Northamptonshire are pleased to announce a brand new partnership with The Good Care
Group, who offer advice and guidance about live-in care and care choices. The Good Care Group has
been providing high quality live-in care to clients across the country for over 10 years. Live-in care in
your own home offers a real alternative to care in a residential or nursing home, and The Good Care
Group believes there’s nowhere better than home.
The Good Care Group has been providing high quality live-in care to clients across the country for over a
decade. Care is focused on keeping people safely and happily in the comfort and familiarity of their own
home, whilst improving their overall health and wellbeing, both physically and mentally. Care is provided
on a one-to-one basis and is highly personalised reflecting not just an individual’s care needs, but their
choices, wishes and social preferences, so they are able to maintain as much independence as possible
and live a healthy and happy life.
Older people across the county often look to Age UK Northamptonshire for guidance when they need
additional support in day-to-day life . A deterioration in health and mobility may mean that it becomes
more difficult to complete daily tasks. A majority of older people are keen to stay independent and
remain in the comfort of their own homes rather than entering a care home setting, but many aren’t sure
how to do this safely.
Age UK Northamptonshire are delighted to be able to refer their clients to The Good Care Group when
they are considering care options. The Good Care Group assesses the older person’s needs and provides
a recommended care package that caters for the client’s care requirements. They match the client with
highly trained carers who live with them on a rotational basis A live-in carer will provide a range of care
and support in your home including; personal care, companionship, social and emotional support,
medicine administration and management, meal planning and cooking, as well as domestic and
household support.
All staff are directly employed by The Good Care Group which ensures they are supervised by an
experienced manager and supported by clinical experts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Good Care
Group never employs agency staff, and recruits, trains and supports their live-in carers in house.
The Good Care Group specialise in caring for older people living with a range of conditions, such as
people living with dementia, Parkinson’s, cancer, needing palliative or end of life care as well as general
frailty. The carers have expert knowledge in these conditions so are able to provide the consistent
monitoring and management each one requires.
The respite packages offered by The Good Care Group are from two to eight weeks, whilst the ongoing
care varies from a standard ‘Care and Support’ to ‘Occupation Therapy-led’ or ‘Nurse-led’ depending on
an individual’s needs.
Age UK Northamptonshire were keen to partner with The Good Care Group because they are the only
live in care provider to have been rated ‘Outstanding’ by The Care Quality Commission (CQC) in all five
key measures – safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. They offer a flexible approach to providing
high quality care, with a fully managed and regulated service that families can rely on.
Chris Duff , Age UK Northamptonshire’s Chief Executive, said “ We’re delighted to be able to refer our
