|Our colleagues from Northampton Partnership Homes (NPH) have made us aware of a smartly dressed male, visiting residents at their homes, claiming to be from “the Government and council housing” – the caller is also producing some form of identification. Residents are being asked to provide their personal and bank details, so that refunds can be provided.
NPH have confirmed that they are NOT making home visits, unless by prior arrangements in line with the current Government restrictions.
It is not uncommon for some people to try and take advantage of the situation we find ourselves in. If you are not expecting a visitor, then please do not answer your door.
If you do wish to answer the door and are able, answer through a window, not only to maintain security but also to minimise the risk of infection.
Any legitimate visitor (or telephone caller) to your property will not ask you for your personal or bank details, so please do not hand this information out under any circumstances.
Should you have any concerns then please contact 101 or report online at northants.police.uk
Stay well. Stay safe. Stay at home.
Kind regards, Sarah.
